In what sounds just like a drama plot, a social media post allegedly posted by barrister Charles Waterstreet resulted in the first trial of Roger Rogerson and Glen McNamara being aborted, according to a Fairfax report.
Waterstreet is credited as a co-creator of the ABC’s Rake starring Richard Roxburgh.
Roger Rogerson, who this week was found guilty of the murder of Jamie Gao with McNamara, is also portrayed by Roxburgh in the Blue Murder sequel, The High Road produced by Endemol Shine for Seven.
Fairfax reports a judge discharged a jury just two days into the trial because of the potential prejudice caused by a social media post.
Waterstreet told the court he was not behind the post.
