Renewed: Hap and Leonard

Offbeat US drama Hap & Leonard has been renewed for a second season.

Co-star James Purefoy announced the news on Twitter: “On a brighter note @HapAndLeonard has been officially picked up for Season 2.”

Purefoy stars with Michael K. Williams as two mismatched best friends who take part in a get-rich-quick scheme that quickly goes awry.

The SundanceTV drama by writers Jim Mickle and Nick Damici, launched to favourable reviews in the US in March and debuted in Australia on Showcase last month.

An episode count for season two has not yet been announced.
