Radio presenter Fifi Box is joining the cast of Neighbours, following an audition for ELEVEN soap.
She will play Brooke Butler, an opportunistic, flighty and dubious woman who relies on her looks to get by. Brooke is also the wayward mother of Xanthe Canning (Lilly Van der Meer), estranged girlfriend of Gary Canning (Damien Richardson) and de-facto daughter-in-law of the Canning family matriarch, Sheila (Colette Mann).
TEN Executive Producer, Claire Tonkin, said: “With Brooke, the Neighbours team have created a worthy new entry to the show’s tally of bold, joyous – and maybe just a bit dodgy – characters you can’t help loving. We can’t wait to see Fifi’s take on this colourful character and the response from the good residents of Ramsay Street.”
Neighbours Executive Producer, Jason Herbison, said: “We needed someone who could not only act, but had a natural warmth, high energy and could pull off Gold Coast chic. Fifi nailed it! Jokes aside, Fifi’s audition was brilliant and her character Brooke is going to rattle the cage on Ramsay Street. We are all very excited to have her join the Canning family.”
Fifi Box added: “I’m so excited to be heading to Ramsay Street to join the Neighbours family. Acting has been a lifelong dream of mine and to get this opportunity on Australia’s most loved and popular show has blown my mind. I’m too excited for words!”
She starts filming this week and will debut on screen in September.

Is she still doing Fifi, Dave and Fev in Melbourne on hit101.9 The Fox or will it just be Dave and Fev?
I guess she needed to work in order to pay her $500,000 Telstra bill (those who watched last nights The Project will understand)!
Sorry that was meant to say “needed the work” not “needed to work”. I meant in addition to her existing radio and television commitments. I shouldn’t write comments when I’m sleep deprived 😛
So how does this fit in with her radio commitments? Last I heard Fifi was doing mornings on FoxFM.
So she’s not “feisty”, then? ='(
Deffentilly unexpected but well done to her. 🙂
Neighbours film 3 months in advance. so she will arrive in October not September.
Thanks but I will stick with the advice from TEN.
When I read that, I was hoping they had changed their filming schedule and are now only two months behind. Fingers crossed, its annoying when they film so far ahead.
They film between 8 and 14 weeks in advance depending on mid breaks and the fact they film 5 weeks worth of episodes in the space of 4 weeks
Exactly, David. Right after I read your article (and its comments), I noticed in Wednesday night’s episode that they showed a phone with a text message (from Steph to Belinda) and the date on the phone was Friday May 6th (presumably the date the scene was filmed). This is really unusual, because Neighbours has a great track record of working out when an episode will air and ensuring that technology displays the right date. In any case, if this was the filming date, it was 10.5 weeks ahead of the air date, which means that a September air date for Fifi’s first appearance is completely feasible (as asserted by TEN). My money is on a brief appearance on Friday, September 30th 🙂
