Luke Cage: trailer. Renewed: Marvel’s Daredevil.

Netflix unveils new trailer at ComicCon for Luke Cage, plus a teaser for Defenders and a third renewal for Daredevil.

Netflix and Marvel held a panel at San Diego Comic-Con featuring the cast of the Netflix original series Marvel’s Luke Cage, including fan-favourite Mike Colter (Luke Cage), Alfre Woodard, Mahershala Ali, Theo Rossi, Simone Missick, Frank Whaley and showrunner and Executive Producer, Cheo Hodari Coker.

Moderated by Jeph Loeb, Marvel’s Head of Television and Executive Producer on the show, the panel included an appearance by Jon Bernthal, who was introduced to fans as Frank Castle (The Punisher) in season two of Marvel’s Daredevil, and will be starring in the Netflix original series Marvel’s The Punisher.

There were also exclusive clips of Marvel’s Luke Cage, a surprise video by Finn Jones, who plays Danny Rand in the upcoming Marvel’s Iron Fist and a first look at the series, the season 3 announcement of Marvel’s Daredevil, and the logo reveal of Marvel’s The Defenders, which will unite Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist.

About Marvel’s Luke Cage:
After a sabotaged experiment leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin, Luke Cage (Mike Colter) becomes a fugitive trying to rebuild his life in modern day Harlem, New York City. But he is soon pulled out of the shadows and must fight a battle for the heart of his city – forcing him to confront a past he had tried to bury.

Mike Colter plays the charismatic lead character, Luke Cage and is joined by Mahershala Ali (Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes), Alfre Woodard (Mariah Dillard), Simone Missick (Misty Knight), Theo Rossi (Shades), Frank Whaley (Rafael Scarfe) and Rosario Dawson (Claire Temple).

Marvel’s Luke Cage is Executive Produced by series Showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker (SouthLAnd, Ray Donovan) and Jeph Loeb (Marvel’s Daredevil, Marvel’s Jessica Jones), who also serves as Marvel’s Head of Television.

  1. Can’t wait for both Marvel’s Luke Cage and Marvel’s The Punisher. Jon Bernthal was superb as Frank Castle and can consider himself unlucky not to get an Emmy nomination in the Best Supporting Actor Category but it seems the Emmys don’t rate any of the Marvel shows highly.

  2. Jessica Jones is good. Its a reason to get a netflix subscription. Looking forward to season 2. I struggled with Daredevil and have yet to finish season 2 but persevered with it because figured I should watch due to liking Jessica Jones and with the defenders coming out a some point. I didn’t mind Luke Cage’s character in Jessica Jones but that brief promo doesn’t peak my interest though I’m not saying I won’t give it a go. Could be that Jessica Jones is more character driven and less about the fight scenes than daredevil which is why I prefer it. Having a female superhero doesn’t hurt either.
