Report: Nine News Brisbane boss tipped for new role

More changes ahead for news execs?

The Courier Mail is speculating that Nine’s Queensland news director, Mike Dalton, is is destined for a role looking after the station’s regional broadcasting.

Nine Queensland’s managing director Kylie Blucher would only confirmed with the newspaper, “Dalts isn’t going anywhere. He’s with Nine for the long haul.”

Dalton has been the news director since 2011.

According to the article Nine did have a potential successor for him in mind, but “negotiations have hit a wall.”

In May there were media reports Dalton had been trying to poach reporters to be based outside of Brisbane.

NB: Nine News Sydney also has a reporter named Mike Dalton.
