Rapper Kanye West has named himself as one of his own idols in a rambling speech at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards.
Referencing violence, Donald Trump, wife Kim Kardashian, Beyonce, Taylor Swift and Walt Disney, he was supposed to introduce his own music video, “Fade.”
While audience members egged him on with cheers, soon many were left with bewildered faces and started turning to their phones.
In 2009 West famously interrupted Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech to acknowledge Beyonce having “one of the best videos of all time.”

He has to be the biggest tool in the music industry, how is he still so popular? IMO his talent doesn’t override what a complete toss bag he is.
NB: although I remember Matt McConnaughy also saying he was his own idol (or it may have been hero) in his Oscar speech which was pretty cringeworthy but he usually comes off as a pretty decent person and is such a terrific actor.
Third thought super successful.
First thought: what a tool. Second thought: this guy needs help.
