Season 2 of ABC thriller The Code begins on September 1, with Ashley Zukerman and Dan Spielman reprising their roles as brothers enveloped in a web of national security secrets and conspiracies.

Also featuring this season are Anthony LaPaglia, Sigrid Thornton, Adele Perovic, Ella Scott Lynch, Ben Oxenbold, Robyn Malcolm.

Enter and there’s no escape…

Hoping to escape the storm they unleashed at the end of season one, bruised but essentially scot-free – Jesse (Ashley Zukerman) and Ned (Dan Spielman) are confronted with the terrifying possibility of being extradited to the US to face serious charges in an American court.

Fortunately for the Banks brothers, Australian National Security is sitting on an explosive case they can’t crack, and Jesse Banks might just be the man to do it. Brilliant, mercurial Jan Roth (Anthony LaPaglia) hosts a hidden online bazaar of illicit weapons, drugs and dangerous ideas. Exchanging his hacker skills for their freedom, Jesse and Ned are drawn into Roth’s dark world that could not only cost their own lives but all that they hold dear.

Exploring the value of freedom of speech and the delicate balance between personal liberty and national security in the digital age, The Code Season Two unveils the rapidly spreading and very real threat of cybercrime, and its capacity to bring an entire country to its knees.

Thursday September 1 at 8.30pm on ABC.

  1. Gave it a try but series 1 was incomprehensible and unwatched. Why was it ever renewed? Perhaps with a new head of drama at the ABC some harder questions will be now asked of the scripts as this one joins a long list of poorly written ABC dramas. But won’t get my hopes up.

  2. I quite enjoyed the first series which I just watched recently over 2 sittings on DVD. Still think Ashley Zukerman is one of our best talents. Will be looking forward to this!

      1. same here, I thought the first series after a promising start, ended up as a load of nonsensical garbage…..one to avoid I am sorry to say

          1. I too watched the full first season, struggled through it and can’t see myself returning.
