Kenneth Branagh returns for the fourth and final season of the UK adaptation of Wallander on ABC.
There are three telemovies all up, filmed in South Africa, Sweden and Denmark.
These screened in the UK in May.
Based on the novels by Henning Mankell, these stories follow Kurt Wallander, a flawed but brilliant detective – a man who takes each murder case he works on personally and will stop at nothing in his search for the truth.
“The White Lioness”
Wallander is drawn into the case of a missing Swedish national while attending a police conference in Cape Town. He finds himself on a physical and emotional journey that will lead him from rural Africa to the intense poverty and deprivation of its urban townships. Along the way, the relationships that Wallander forms with Grace Thembu (Bonnie Mbuli), a policewoman and a single mother, and Mabasha (Lemongang Tsipa), a young man driven to a life of crime, helps Wallander rekindle his belief in the value of his forty years as a policeman.
Also stars Alex Ferns, Deon Lotz, John Kani, Tumisho Masha, Tessa Jubber, Jeany Spark.
8.30pm Sunday, August 7 on ABC.
