Screen Producers Awards 2016: nominees

ABC and Foxtel titles dominate the Drama nominees at this year's Screen Producers Awards.

ABC and Foxtel titles including Cleverman, Rake, Wentworth, Barracuda, Secret City, The Doctor Blake Mysteries and The Kettering Incident dominate the Drama categories in the Screen Producers Awards 2016.

They will compete with Wanted, Love Child, Mary: Making of a Princess and Wolf Creek across the Drama Series and Telemovies / Miniseries categories.

Three ABC comedies Randy & Sammy J in Ricketts Lane, Mad as Hell and Please Like Me are in contention in the Comedy category against Stan’s No Activity and The Family Law from SBS.

The Awards recognise excellence in 11 categories of film, television and interactive productions.
as the only awards voted by production businesses working in the industry.

Two Comedy Showroom projects Ronny Chieng: International Student by Sticky Pictures and The Future is Expensive by Goalpost Pictures have nods in the Short Film category. A Little Lunch app by the Australian Children’s Television Foundation is nominated in the Interactive category.

Nowhere Boys: The Book of Shadows by Matchbox Pictures also has a feature film nomination.

An announcement will be made in the coming months regarding the Individual and Business Awards.

Winners will be announced at the Screen Producers Australia Awards on Thursday 17 November during the Screen Forever conference.
