I was one of those watching 24 Hours in Emergency (
A lot of these reality shows would likely do better if just on once or twice a week max in a tightly edited one hour episode, but perhaps (from the network’s point of view) it is more cost effective to produce multiple extended episodes of the same production, and suffer lower (but relatively consistent) ratings over multiple nights.
Totally over reality shows, the same thing over and over again, renovations, cooking, weddings, boy meets girl etc. what happened to the comedy shows that were made a few years ago why cant we have more of those and also new faces in the Australian Drama series that are being made, I am sure we have some great actors/actresses out there, give the new comers a chance to shine.
I’ll tell you why: Money. That’s all there is to it, unfortunately. Cheap reality or expensive drama and comedy? The networks have spoken!
That Zumbo guy has zero charisma. How anyone gave him his own show is a complete mystery (as is how anyone can sit through it).
I’d agree that Survivor could be edited down a bit, especially Tribal Council.
Zumbo is only on 2 days a week and I think that’s tolerable.
How about Married at First Sight on 3 days a week? That’s just greedy and a fast tracked way of killing a show. I believe it will return again in Feb next year.
Zumbo seem to be repeated all weekend on Seven.
Good to see Seven still have dud shows as well.
Yeah it can get a bit boring after a while. Thank goodness it is a short series. Not sure if it would return next year.
Commercial networks seem to litter the weekend schedule with repeats. No surprises there.
I think that ZJD will unlikely to be renewed for 2017.
that could mean that Zumbo and his krakenbush could return to masterchef
I gave Survivor another shot last night for a bit. Unfortunately, it’s biggest fault seems to be that it’s just quite boring, which it shouldn’t be. That’s not to say that The Block and Zumbo’s are any better. Anytime I’ve watched them recently, they’ve bored me to tears. It’s such a shame Australian TV networks think that every Reality show needs to be 5-6 hours long across a week. Thank goodness for HYBPA…such a good laugh.
I am loving Survivor. It is comparable to an above average season of the US show. However I do have to agree that Ep was the most boring of the 4 so far, given the exit that occored.
