8 seasons to wrap Homeland, says showrunner.

It’s still a long way off but Homeland will wrap with its 8th season according to executive producer / showrunner Alex Gansa.

2017 marks season 6 but the show was recently renewed by Showtime for 2 further seasons.

Gansa has told Deadline that his team would be writing an ending to the series in Season 8 and that he would be “done” after Season 8, “if I’m still standing.”

Gansa talked of the toll it takes to reinvent the series almost every season, an experience that has been rewarding but also extremely stressful.

His dream is to film one of the next two seasons in Israel, to come full circle with the Israeli drama Prisoners of War.

Season 6 debuts in early 2017.

Showtime is yet to comment on a series conclusion.
