Aussie Aden Young (Rectify, The Principal) has his next US project, cast in a drama pilot Damnation for the USA Network.

Written and created by Tony Tost (Longmire), Damnation is described as an epic saga of the secret history of the 1930s American heartland, chronicling the mythic conflict and bloody struggle between big money and the downtrodden, God and greed, charlatans and prophets.

Deadline reports Young will play Seth Davenport, a man masquerading as a small town Iowa preacher in the hopes of starting a full-blown insurrection against the status quo. Focused on his mission, he is unaware that an industrialist tycoon has hired a professional strikebreaker named Creeley Turner to stop the uprising by any means necessary. But unbeknownst to those around them, these two men already share a secret bloody past.

Creeley Turner will be played by Logan Marshall-Green (Prometheus) while Sarah Jones, Chasten Harmon, Christopher Heyerdahl and Melinda Page Hamilton are also cast.

The pilot will be produced by Universal Cable Productions.

  1. I’ve only seen him in Rectify but I liked what I saw. He’ll prob have to play this character quite differently so we’ll see how it works out. As always, the writing will be the key. If that’s not up to scratch nothing else will matter.
