Seven Adelaide will screen the West End Slowdown on Sunday as the SA Legends and the Indigenous All Stars meet at Gliderol Stadium, Glenelg to raise funds for the Little Heroes Foundation.

Channel Seven will telecast a delayed match from 4pm. Seven’s commentators are Mark Soderstrom, John Casey, Tim Ginever and Ken Cunningham, with Seven News sports reporter Theo Doropoulos on the boundary.

The first Slowdown was played in 2000 (won by Port Adelaide against the Crows) and teams have met almost every year since. There have been 17 Slowdowns in total.

This year the Indigenous All Stars team will be coached by Kyam Maher, with the line-up including Andrew McLeod, Daniel Motlop, Ricky O’Loughlin, Elijah Ware, Eddie Hocking and David Wirrpanda.

The SA Legends will be coached by Graham Cornes, with the squad including Tony Modra, Wayne Weidemann, Andrew Jarman, Kane Cornes, Mark Ricciuto, Tyson Edwards, Brooke Fogden and Darryl Wakelin.

Slowdown, in association with Channel Seven’s Today Tonight, was created to raise funds for the charity foundation now known as the Little Heroes Foundation.

Almost $20 million has been raised since 1996 when the Foundation was established to aid the treatment and support of seriously ill children at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital as well as to provide daily support to families through the Little Heroes Care program.

Entry to Gliderol Stadium, Glenelg is $5 for adults and a gold coin donation for children under 12 years of age.

The first bounce is at 1.30pm with the match telecast on Seven starting at 4.00pm.

  1. I must say the commentary team for this charity match is better than the EJ Witten Legends Game. John Casey, Tim Giniver, Mark Soderstrom its going to be awesome. Pitty it will not be Live that would have been great. I like the Indigenous v All starts Concept. I think the Indigenous team will kick ass.
