Alan Carr is working on a new show for UK’s Channel 4 amid recent speculation that Chatty Man may be nearing the end after 7 years.

Carr, who has recently been touring Australia, is working on Happy Hour, set in a traditional British social club. The show will feature ‘shenanigans with celebrities like crazy games’ as well as live music.

It is tipped to replace Chatty Man in the long term, which has struggled in the ratings.

Channel 4 has denied Chatty Man will be axed, but there is no firm commitment beyond a return at Christmas.

Carr has been touring Australia with Live shows over recent weeks.

  1. I’m not surprised the ratings are declining as the show has been declining in quality in the last 3 seasons. The increasing number of B and C grade celebrity guests, unfunny skits and dull interviews has stopped me watching it this season. Hopefully his new show gets back to the roots of the early Chatty Man days.
