Craig Roach, one half of Married at First Sight’s gay couple, is the latest Reality participant to cry foul over editing and manipulation.

His Facebook post, in which he describes his appearance as “a stupid mistake”, follows Season 2’s Clare Verrall dumping on the show in social media posts this week.

“It is anything but REALITY,” Roach (pictured left) wrote on Facebook.

“Nothing you see is what was the actual events. I was filmed for five days with barely any sleep.

“Fortunately for me I knew within 24 hours that this guy wasn’t good for me at all and got the f*** out of there.

“We were required by the producers to shot some footage of us getting to know each other as they didn’t have any.

“So I agreed to 2 scenes of us spending time together that was all scripted.

“What you saw on TV was nothing what really happen TRUST ME!”

While Nine had hoped the show would highlight the legal differences in marriage equality between Australia and New Zealand, some members of the gay community were critical of their inclusion.

Roach said “although I have no regrets doing the show, I am sure you realise it’s all edited.

“I would like to thank everyone for all the beautiful messages.”

“It’s definitely made me realise who I am and accept myself for the person I have become.”

It isn’t clear if Roach is still under any contract which forbids him from such public comments.

Clare Verrall, who featured earlier this year, this week noted she was no longer bound by a contract and free to spill.

  1. The only people who don’t realize that “reality” TV is 100% scripted are the people who go on these type of shows. You’d think everyone would know by now…

    1. If people deliberately participated in a show like this for ‘experimental’ reasons or to get some sort of attention for themselves (hello wannabe celebrities), then they shouldn’t be complaining. Otherwise, you’d have to be delusional to think you would be accurately portrayed in a reality show like this. It’s so difficult to give sympathy to people like this.

Having said that, there are some success stories out of a show like this so congratulations to those people.
