Axed: Bloodline to end with third season

Season three of Netflix drama, with Ben Mendelsohn, will be the last.

BLOODLINE

Season three of US drama Bloodline, which features Aussie Ben Mendelsohn, will be the last.

The Florida Keys family drama, created by Todd A. Kessler, Daniel Zelman and Glenn Kessler, will wrap with 11 episodes next year, one less than S2.

Cindy Holland, Netflix’s VP Original content, said in a statement, “Todd A. Kessler, Daniel Zelman and Glenn Kessler (KZK) are thoughtful and visionary storytellers who lead a prestigious cast that includes Kyle Chandler and Ben Mendelsohn, who have both garnered two Emmy nominations for their roles on the series. Together with our collaborative partners at Sony Pictures Television, they created a seductive show that Netflix viewers worldwide love and continue to discover.

“We are looking forward to the exciting climax KZK have in store for the series conclusion in May 2017.”

It’s not clear if Sony Pictures intends to try and shop the series elsewhere.

  1. Bloodline has been my favourite streamed series. Sorry to see it end but could have finished up with an extra one or two episodes added to last season.
Kyle Chandler is a standout. Back to his Friday Night Lights form.
