The Good Wife co-creators Robert and Michelle King have come onboard the spin-off as showrunners.
The untitled project sees Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski) the victim of a financial scam that wipes out her savings and destroys the reputation of a young lawyer. She joins Lucca Quinn (Cush Jumbo) at one of Chicago’s pre-eminent law firms.
Meanwhile Sarah Steele, who played Marissa Gold daughter of Eli Gold (Alan Cumming), is also
attached to the project.
The first episode is due to premiere on CBS in February before moving online to CBS All Access.
No platform has been confirmed for Australia.

Not sure what to think of this concept. Diane was probably my favourite character on TWG (that final scene in the corridor at Peters press conference!!) but this just seems a bit desperate and cheap especially including Lucca who was an 11th hour addition to TWG. I would have preferred it if they’d round-up the best lawyers from the show (say Diane, David, Carey and maybe an AUSA or 2) and theyd started their own firm and have the episodes more about the cases and less about the central characters (Alicias) personal life.
You’d hope considering both Ten’s output deal with CBS combined with their broadcast of The Good Wife, they’d pick up the spinoff. But The Good Wife never fired for them, and probably suits the older Seven/Nine audience better. Fingers crossed it lands somewhere
Please ten, show this.
