Lloyd-Webber musicals on Foxtel Arts

Foxtel Arts will be screening several Andrew Lloyd-Webber musical on Sunday nights next month, kicking off with the Australian premiere of Jesus Christ Superstar Live featuring Tim Minchin and Melanie C.

This was staged in the UK in 2012.

Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s rock classic Jesus Christ Superstar returns to its roots with this sensational performance filmed in the UK. An incredible cast including Tim Minchin as Judas Iscariot, Melanie C as Mary Magdalene, Chris Moyles as King Herod and Ben Forster as Jesus Christ, perform hit songs including I Don’t Know How to Love Him, Gethsemane, Heaven on Their Minds, Everything’s Alright, King Herod’s Song and Superstar in an exciting and contemporary interpretation.

7:30pm Sunday on Foxtel Arts.

Cats will follow on October 9 with Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat on October 16 and Love Never Dies on October 23.
