No The Breakfast Bar is not a new breakfast show for TEN, but the fictional show-within-a-show from The Wrong Girl.
Jessica Marais plays a producer on the series, which sees Craig McLachlan and Madeleine West as brekkie TV anchors.
Not based on anyone in particular of course….
The cast also features Hamish Blake, Rob Collins, Ian Meadows, Doris Younane, Steve Vizard, Ian Meadows, Hayley Magnus, Kevin Harrington, Leah Vandenberg, Christie Whelan Browne, Hugo Johnstone-Burt, David Woods and Cecelia Peters.
It premieres Wednesday, 28 September at 8.30pm.
In Network Ten’s contemporary new Australian drama, The Wrong Girl, Jessica Marais plays Lily Woodward, a hot shot producer on the successful breakfast television show The Breakfast Bar.
Passionate, energetic and optimistic, Lily is constantly challenged by her opinionated work colleagues.
The loveable larrikin Eric Albrectson, played by Craig McLachlan, is the co-host of The Breakfast Bar. Although he is great at his job, his behaviour is unpredictable and at times hilariously inappropriate.
Sitting alongside Eric is co-host Erica Jones, played by Madeleine West. Erica is the polar opposite of Eric: hard-working, professional and makes a point of keeping her private life private.
The resident weather reporter, Hamilton, played by Hamish Blake, is side-splittingly funny and regularly speaks in meteorological terms when his input is required.
Hot new chef Jack Winters, played by Rob Collins, is raw, earthy and incredibly handsome. Jack’s irresistibility has the entire office swooning over him.
Enthusiastic, quick to react and energetic, Lily’s joyful optimism is set to be constantly challenged working alongside this motley crew.

That’s what they should be calling Studio 10.
I’ve just finished the book, will be interesting to see what happens
Given that the set is already built, ten might as well launch this as an actual morning show.
This plot sounds almost identical to the movie Morning Glory…
“Drama”? Looks more like a comedy to me… or a ‘Dramedy’.
