Nine Perth is now broadcasting from its new Perth headquarters.

After 51 years based at Dianella, 130+ staff shift to a new home at 253 St Georges Terrace, a 2,500 sq m office space. With three buildings interconnected in a campus-style layout, it features a fully digitised and automated new studio featuring large windows for public viewing and an outdoor Nine Plaza.

Tracy Vo presented Today Perth News bulletins in front of the new building this morning.

“It was such a terrific morning, and thanks to all those who popped by to say hello. The Nine Plaza will remain open to the public. It’s a great space and a perfect place for office workers to pop down and relax during their lunch break,” she said.

Tonight Nine News Perth will broadcast with a new-look news set, with Tim McMillan, Emmy Kubainski, Michael Thomson and Scherri-Lee Biggs.

“Our new studio is the most modern in Australia. It’s fully automated, featuring robotic cameras, and our new set is huge,” said Tim McMillan.

Emmy Kubainski added: “It’s a privilege to bring Perth the latest news live from the city. It’s the dawn of an exciting era for Nine and we want you join us for this historic moment tonight from 6.00pm.”

  1. I prefer Ten news in Perth too, just one good newsreader and the Weather is more detailed. The set of Nine always looked dated and boring so i’m interested to see what it looks like now.

  2. I’ve been by this a few times and it looks really good. Channel 9 are really trying to improve. I still prefer Channel 10 Perth news. It doesn’t seem so one sided like Channel 7 is and their connection with The West and now The Sunday Times newspapers. You can finish their sentence on Channel 7 after a news story “and you can find out more in tomorrows West Australian”.
