9 Comments:

  1. Rugby should realise not in same stratospheee as league and afl and not try and compete . The All Black – South Africa game rated higher on fox then the wallabies game (notwithstanding the extra eyeballs on ten) they need to move these games away from the finals … or they could have even taken advantage of Perth time and had a 10 pm eastern kickoff so people could watch after league/AFL

  2. Poor Channel 10 – there’s really no audience for rugby union, other than the rugby tragics on the North Shore of Sydney.
Not much better for the ABC……..Agatha Raisin is a turkey, in every respect. I won’t be surprised if Aunty relegates it to another timeslot and finds something else for Saturday 7.30PM, even if that is repeats of Death in Paradise, or Last Tango in Halifax

  3. I am guessing that Go may have taken some audience away from Ten since they both are generally targeting the same demo?

And looks like Seven wins this week thanks largely to AFL on Friday and Saturday. As expensive as the AFL deal is, I think it’s a worthwhile investment for Seven. I imagine they would do whatever it takes to make sure they clinch on to this deal indefinitely. Live sports is probably a less risky investment than drama or reality shows.

    • Sport should be a very high priority now, because it is probably the only thing that people will religiously watch in real time. Everything else can be timeshifted.

    • You’d have to think there would be some serious meetings happening between TEN & RU regarding the future of the sport being broadcast on the main channel in all markets as it’s obviously dragging the network down.
