Canadian medical drama Saving Hope will end in 2017 with its fifth season comprising 18 episodes.

Star Erica Durance posted on Twitter, “After 85 episodes, season five will be our last.

The CTV drama has aired in Australia on SoHo but moves to Arena following the channel closure.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the fifth season shoot sees Durance returning as Dr. Alex Reid and co-star Shanks as Dr. Charlie Harris: Picking up after the season-four finale, where a vengeful Tom Crenshaw (Travis Milne) appeared at the Hope Zion Hospital Fellowship Awards and fired a shot at Alex (Durance) and Charlie (Michael Shanks), season five of Saving Hope will see the Hope Zion staff thrust into turmoil.
