Ratings: Compared to 2015 TEN's dating show is a long way off where it should be. Nine wins Wednesday.

The Bachelorette rose by 105,000 compared to last Wednesday to finish with 697,000 -but frankly it is well off the pace of where it should be for a penultimate episode.

A year ago it was sitting at 1.27m for the equivalent episode. The show did manage a win in 16-39 demos but there’s no escaping that Georgia Love has not resonated in the same way as Sam Frost. The show was again beaten by The Block on 910,000, but bettered Beach Cops and Highway Patrol.

Doctor Doctor fell from 854,000 to 777,000 but remained a timeslot winner. Beach Cops, Wrong Girl and Upper Middle Bogan followed.

Hard Quiz fell from 628,000 to 501,000 in its second outing. Hard.

Nine network won Wednesday with 29.1% then Seven 27.8%, TEN 19.7%, ABC 15.8% and SBS 7.6%.

Seven News was #1 with 983,000 / 928,000 for Seven then Home and Away (691,000), Beach Cops (661,000 / 557,000), Highway Patrol (658,000), The Chase (591,000 / 366,000) and Ramsay’s Hotel Hell (381,000).

Nine News (952000 / 924,000) led for Nine then The Block (910,000), Doctor Doctor (777,000), A Current Affair (763,000), Hot Seat (484,000) and The Truth About Alcohol (345,000).

The Bachelorette (697,000) led for TEN. The Project was 596,000 / 386,000, The Wrong Girl was 501,000, TEN Eyewitness News was 465,000 and Madam Secretary was 225,000.

ABC News (747,000), 7:30 (593,000), Hard Quiz (508,000), Upper Middle Bogan (478,000), Rosehaven (457,000) and Adam Hills: Happyism (308,000) comprised ABC’s night.

On SBS it was 24 Hours in Emergency (299,000 / 235,000), Tony Robinson’s Hidden Britain by Drone (252,000) and SBS World News (151,000).

7TWO’s Doc Martin topped multichannels with 241,000.

  1. I can take or leave Hard Quiz – based on watching both episodes. The grand problem is that the winner is determined by the final five questions; not the score up until then. I presume some of the interplay between Tom Gleeson and the contestants is scripted.

It’s a real shame that Bogan, and, I’ll admit it, Rosehaven; are not getting a bigger audience.

  2. The Wrong Girl is actually getting better. The first two episodes looked good but had dialog no real person (except Nina Proudman) would ever speak. Hard Quiz defeats itself with stupid trick questions that make the contestants jump in too early. The girl who did the obscure French tennis player last night deserves her own show!!

  3. Wow Kristie on the project looked amazing. While on the survivor show she never looked bad, but maybe I was distracted by Brooke and Phoebe. But on the project last night she looked stunning all glammed up, plus came over with a huge amount of confidence (possibly a little too much)….gotta love her
