Glitch attracting Netflix buzz

"Fans of Stranger Things have a new series to add to their queues," says one US site.

ABC drama Glitch began screening on Netflix in territories outside Australia last weekend and it’s beginning to get some very positive press.

The Daily Beast:
Glitch refuses to trap itself in any inextricable corners, and its finale arrives so soon—replete with a raft of stakes-raising cliffhangers—that it’s almost cruel in its refusal to definitively address (much less resolve) its myriad concerns. In this era of drawn-out-to-the-point-of-emaciation streaming efforts like Bloodline and Luke Cage, however, it’s hard to complain about a tantalizing series that leaves one wanting more.

Refinery 29:
Fans of Stranger Things have a new series to add to their queues. Netflix knows we need a new show worth mooning our friends over, and Australia’s Glitch may just be next. Glitch, released stateside on October 14, sounds a little like Stranger Things meets The Walking Dead. The streaming site describes the show in broad strokes: “A police officer and a doctor face an emotionally charged mystery when six local residents inexplicably return from the dead in peak physical form.” Glitch released stateside on October 14, sounds a little like Stranger Things meets The Walking Dead. Decider:
There’s a cool if vaguely unbelieving tone to the series that can only be described as Australian. When Sergeant Hayes and Dr. Elishia McKellar (Genevieve O’Reilly) initially find the six resurrected people, Hayes shrugs off their mud-caked appearances, guessing that they were either on an all-night bender or that they’re involved in some sort of cult. It takes a while for both Hayes and Dr. McKellar to realize their patients are undead — even when all of them appear covered in dirt in the middle of a graveyard and Hayes’ wife is staring directly at him — because that conclusion is so grotesquely unbelievable.

  1. I am so happy for this series to be getting airplay overseas. I loved it from the 1st ep, the cliffhanger left me wanting more and I hope it does really well with an international audience.
