  1. I watched SBS….may catch Hyde and Seek…and Secret daughter on ‘encores’….
TBBT …how the mighty has fallen…not much interest there now…

  2. X-Factor is down stubstancally from last year. It did 1.5m, this only got 900k. Sure the amount of people watching FTA (as opposed to Foxtel and Streaming Services) is decreasing but a 600k drop is a greater then average year-to-year drop.

  3. I watched both.

I preferred The Secret Daughter (as did more viewers, according to the overnight ratings) because it wasn’t as ‘convoluted’ or hard to follow.

I am not saying Secret Daughter is brilliant either.

Surprised with the ratings for X Factor, it’s usually always been over 1m.

  4. Had a busy night last night so gave up with all the primary channels and stuck to Grey’s Anatomy. Caught up with The X Factor this morning and really enjoyed it. Will hope to check out the new Aussie Drama’s later in the week.

  5. Watched Hyde & Seek live, storylines are all over the place. Seems like its going to be hard to follow.

Watched a recorded Secret Daughter afterwards, and it’s 45 minutes of my life I will never get back. Worst Australian Show in the history of Television. Even worse than Yasmins Getting Married.

    1. Thought hyde and seek was all over the place too. Going to give it another episode and we haven’t seen deborah lee furness yet but I’m not sure.

Still haven’t watched the secret daughter yet and not sure I will.

  6. It would seem that with a fragmented viewing audience and the rise of streaming services where viewers choose to watch whatt hey want when they want is impacting the TV ratings, however many younger people appear to not even watch much television as they seek entertainment from other means. So the singing shows are not as appealing as they might have been.
Personally I find the over promotion of shows generally puts me off, them, as I see them repeatedly ad nauseum, even when I am skipping them on my PVR.

  7. Given the Olympics were used as a platform to promote X Factor and Secret Daughter, I think the results for these two shows are underwhelming. They were third in key younger demographics and appear to have drawn a huge chunk of their audience from over 55’s. Seven deliberately reformatted X Factor to attract a younger audience and it failed.
