Dance Academy movie: behind the scenes

Dance Academy cast reunite for the feature film to be released in cinemas next April.

Dance Academy has released a behind-the-scenes video on its upcoming feature film, which returns to its characters 18 months after the series finale.

The film is having a cinema release next April and is expected later on ABC ME.

Tara (Xenia Goodwin) was destined to become one of the top dancers of her generation but suffered a devastating injury that crippled her career. In her quest to defy the odds and make a comeback, Tara travels to New York to discover the true definition of a dream.

With all the familiar favourites from the original series and some new faces, including Nic Westaway and Miranda Otto as the Artistic Director of the National Ballet Company, Dance Academy is a heartwarming story of ordinary people fighting to achieve their extraordinary dreams

Directed by Jeffrey Walker and written by Samantha Strauss, Dance Academy stars Miranda Otto, Xenia Goodwin, Keiynan Lonsdale, Jordan Rodrigues, Dena Kaplan, Thomas Lacey, Alicia Banit, Nic Westaway and Tara Morice. Werner Film Productions produces the film with investment from Screen Australia, Screen NSW, Film Victoria, The Australian Children’s Television Foundation, ZDF Enterprises and Soundfirm.
