It’s long been touted that Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries could have a new lease on life as a feature film.
A fourth season was not possible due to Essie Davis being based in the UK with family, as well as funding cuts at the ABC.
Further news on the film now suggests a movie trilogy potentially to begin filming in London in 2017.
Producer Fiona Eagger tells News Corp, “Essie is in London at the moment and a feature film can fit into her schedule easier than a five-month ongoing TV series so the aim is in the second half of next year to be able to begin filming.
Eagger and co-creator Deb Cox have also penned a spin-off TV series, featuring Phryne Fisher as an 18-year-old, which they hope will screen on the ABC.
