Not all reboots get the greenlight with a small screen adaptation of The First Wives Club being passed by US cable network TV Land.
But the project may yet be redeveloped.
The 1996 feature, which starred Diane Keaton, Bette Midler and Goldie Hawn, was to have been a single-camera comedy starring Alyson Hannigan, Megan Hilty and Vanessa Lachey as former 1990s classmates who reconnect in present day San Francisco after their close friend from college dies in a freak accident.
When they discover that they are all at a romantic crossroads, they band together to tackle divorce, relationships and life’s other annoying challenges.
Written by Rebecca Addelman it may yet be redeveloped.
Another TV Land pilot based on a movie, Heathers, is headed into production while American Woman, featuring Alicia Silverstone was picked up to series earlier this week.
Original First Wives star, Goldie Hawn, is currently visiting Australia.

I’m not at all surprised. Did they even watch the film? Sounds like they read a brief outline of the it and then completely mangled it. I wish these networks would just start creating original shows, rather than spinoffs, sequels, prequels, reboots, reimaginings etc
