Airdate: Family Rules

Mum Daniella has raised nine daughters on her own since her partner died tragically from a one-hit punch.

NITV premieres a six-part observational series Family Rules following the lives of the Rule clan.

Mum Daniella has raised her nine daughters (now 12 to 30) on her own since her partner Kevin died tragically from a one-hit punch in 2004.

Family Rules is a half-hour observational documentary series, giving an exclusive insight into modern Indigenous family life through the eyes of nine sisters and their mother. Angela, Shenika, Helen, Kelly, Kiara, Sharna, Aleisha, Jessica and Hannah navigate their way through adolescence and adulthood as their mother, Daniella, tries to teach them life lessons.

With their own unique senses of humour and style, the girls learn to juggle their own aspirations with the reality of everyday life.

Each episode in this six part series focuses on the life of a particular sister, showing situations common to many young women.

Family Rules is about finding the perfect formal dress and about moving out of home for the first time. It’s about a family road trip to experience culture, country and elders. Navigating life in a family of nine presents its own unique challenges and when the rules are broken, everyone has something to say.

7:30pm Monday January 9 on NITV.
