Ironically, it was the one thing he didn’t seem to have very much of last night….
Boy George is joining The Voice coaching panel in 2017.
The Culture Club star will join previously-announced Delta Goodrem and returning coach, Seal.
Boy George has previously been a coach on The Voice UK alongside Will.i.am, Paloma Faith and Ricky Wilson.
“I am super excited to be doing The Voice in Australia, because I know they can take a bit of banter and I won’t be holding back. The UK season was a warm-up and I am ready to sprinkle some pop-tastic glitter dust all over the show,” Boy George said.
A fourth big red chair is yet to be filled by ITV Australia and Nine.
Boy George is currently touring Australia with Culture Club.

Saw Culture Club twice earlier this year and going again this weekend. George is much better than his performance on the AACTA’s. Either he didn’t want to be there or he wasn’t well. The whole band were flat.
This is a great decision….if it was 1986! While you’re at it Nine, why not add Kenny Loggins or the other guy from WHAM!
I thought “the other guy from Wham” was always Andrew Ridgeley.
Yes, for someone with so much experience, he seemed a little off. He has a great voice but he seemed to be a bit like a contestant on The Voice.
I didn’t make a big deal about it in case he had a flu. Show must go on.
Just gives me another reason not to watch it.
Yawn. Reality music shows need a rest.
Agree his voice was pretty weak last night but I think he will be very entertaining as a judge.
Say what you will about George, he’s very quick witted and not afraid to tell it like it is.
Certainly won’t be boring with him onboard.
What does a one hit wonder from over 30 years ago have to contribute to a talent show?
Culture Club was not a one hit wonder. Boy George has a wealth of experience, including highs and lows, he can impart.
Do You Really Want to Hurt Me, Time (Clock of the Heart), I’ll Tumble 4 Ya, Church of the Poison Mind, Karma Chameleon, Victims, Miss Me Blind, It’s a Miracle, The Crying Game… just to name a few!
Church of The Poisoned Mind is one of my favourites
One hit wonder? Wow. You must have been doing other things in the 80’s.
Yes, listening to Ian Dury and The Blockheads not Boy George-ask anyone who was there and almost all will only be able to name one or two songs by him and that was 30 years ago-‘Crying Game’ was a cover of a 20 year old song at the time…
I’m going to say it, I want to see another female judge. As in have two, it’s about time.
Ok, but we have had 2 for the past two seasons?
Oh, my bad. It goes to show, I wasn’t paying attention. (Whoops!)
Not looking a good line up this year ?
If his performance at the AACTA’s last night is a preview of what to expect on his live tour, then I think people would be very disappointed.
