Three contestants will battle it out in The Great Australian Bake Off final next week: Antonio Marcora (pictured), 17 from Sydney; Monica Cavallaro, 44 from Sydney; and Olivia McMahon, 37 from Brisbane.

The three secured a grand final place after Liesel was eliminated.

During the final episode, they will face a Signature of the classic French Opera Cake, aTechnical challenge of 12 identical Candied Orange and Ricotta Sfogliatelles, and a Showstopper that must be a tiered masterpiece.

As well as earning the title of Australia’s Best Amateur Baker, the winner will appear on the cover of delicious magazine in March. Editor-in-chief Kerrie McCallum makes an appearance in the final.

The show is also open for applications for 2017. You can apply here.

The Great Australian Bake Off started nine weeks ago with 12 passionate home bakers stepping into the iconic Bake Off Shed, hoping they had the right ingredients to go all the way. Each week, judges Maggie Beer and Matt Moran farewelled one baker until just three were left – Antonio, Monica and Olivia.

Despite being just 16 years old during filming, Antonio’s flair for flavour has seen him win Star Baker twice; while Monica’s inventive and daring showstoppers, and Olivia’s imaginative designs, have seen them both crowned Star Baker three times each.

Hosted by comedians Claire Hooper and Mel Buttle, the second season of The Great Australian Bake Off has been another huge success for Lifestyle FOOD, breaking further viewing records, while Maggie Beer was awarded the AACTA Subscription Television Award for Best Female Presenter at Monday’s 6th AACTA Awards Industry Luncheon.

The Great Australian Bake Off is a FremantleMedia Australia production for Foxtel based on a format created by Love Productions, distributed by BBC Worldwide and broadcast by the BBC in the United Kingdom.

Tuesday December 13 at 8.30pm on Lifestyle FOOD.
