Airdate: Underground

Season 1 of historical drama Underground on Stan is now confirmed for January 24.

The series is set against the Underground Railroad in Antebellum Georgia and portrays group of slaves planning a daring 600-mile escape from a plantation.

Ranked as WGN America’s most-watched original series, it stars Jurnee Smollett-Bell (True Blood), Aldis Hodge (Leverage), Christopher Meloni (Law & Order: SVU) and Australia’s Jessica De Gouw (Deadline Gallipoli).

John Legend is executive producer and will be joining the cast in season 2, which will be fast-tracked on Stan in March 2017.

Underground debuted in the US last March.
