HBO hints a future for The Night Of, True Detective.

US creators are both closing in on ideas that they are excited about.

For those who have been wondering…

HBO has cautiously indicated development of more The Night Of and True Detective is moving in the right direction.

President of programming Casey Bloys recently said he was hopeful both creators “are closing in on ideas that they are excited about.”

HBO had said repeatedly that they are ready and willing to order a second installment of The Night Of and third of True Detective if the creative teams behind both projects came up with ideas they were passionate about.

The Night Of was created by Richard Price and Steven Zallian based on the British miniseries Criminal Justice. Nic Pizzolatto’s  True Detective anthology aired its most recent second installment in 2015.

  1. I was under the impression that True Detective was always intended to be a made with original content and actors for each season, the fact they tried to make a replica of season one is where the failure occurred with fans.

  2. Thanks for the update and I have to thank you again for putting me onto The Night Of. Unless they can get McConaughey and Harrelson back than I wouldn’t bother with another True Detective season. Just looking back I still can’t believe McConaughey didn’t win an Emmy for his performance in that first season.
