Jake Mitchell, former media writer for The Australian, becomes Business & Corp. Development Mgr at Stan.

Stan has appointed former media writer at The Australian, Jake Mitchell, as its Business and Corporate Development Manager.
He will work on developing new commercial opportunities with business partners for the Nine / Fairfax company.
“Jake’s background in business media and his extensive network within the industry makes him the perfect choice to expand our presence and develop new opportunities with our commercial partners,” Stan Chief Executive Mike Sneesby said. “We are excited to have Jake on board.”
The appointment follows Nine recently hiring Mumbrella’s Nic Christensen as Head of Digital Communications.
Prior to The Australian, Mitchell was previously joint Street Talk editor at The Australian Financial Review.

As a non Stan user I’m not sure how Stan is going at the moment but I wonder with Nine involved what clash of commercial interest it has. Stan for example should not be the premier source of new overseas made shows which Nine or others will broadcast several months later. Perhaps this Nine / Fairfax partnership is a foretaste of the future for FTA.
