US actor Mike Connors, best known for 70s cop series Mannix, has died, aged 92.
He died in California after being diagnosed with lukemia a week ago.
Connors played detective Joe Mannix for eight seasons from 1968 to 1975. He won a Golden Globe for his performance as a tough investigator, doing things his own way and often being beat up in the process.
Mannix was the last series produced by Desilu Productions with president Lucille Ball earlier convincing CBS not to cancel the show despite initial poor ratings.
Other TV credits included Tightrope!, Today’s F.B.I., War and Remembrance, Murder She Wrote, Love Boat Walker Texas Ranger and a 2007 guest appearance on Two and a Half Men.
Film credits included Island in the Sky and Cecil B. DeMille’s The Ten Commandments.
