A RocKwiz special …but will SBS renew for a 15th season?
It's one of their most-loved brands, so why is SBS always dragging its feet on RocKwiz?

Much-loved and long-running music show RocKwiz is yet to have a 15th season renewal from SBS.
So far it appears the show may have to settle for a one-off special in 2017.
SBS Channel Manager Ben Nguyen recently told TV Tonight, “We love RocKwiz and what it does for the channel so we’re talking with them about a special.
“Hopefully there will be something to announce soon.”
The show, featuring Julia Zemiro, Brian Nankervis and the RocKwiz Orkestra, failed to crack a mention at the SBS Upfronts in November.
12 months earlier it also wasn’t part of 2016 Upfronts but it did win 4 episodes in May, down from 6 in 2015. With its tight budgets, SBS always seems slow to show it much love -despite being one of the network’s most recognised brands.
RocKwiz has outlasted Spicks and Specks (twice) and recently staged Christmas shows in Melbourne, Sydney & Adelaide.

Thanks for this David. Strange not getting it back as it’s such a well known brand and ads would generate appeal in the rest of their schedule. I also highly doubt that it’s a money splurge.
And yet that God awful ‘Undressed’ rubbish was green lit…
