Pricing for Fetch TV looks set to rise from $15 for 40 channels to $20 for 49 channels, according to media speculation.

A pricing sheet shown to an Optus store customer, showed a new Ultimate package at $20 a month.

Packages with Kids, Knowledge, Variety and Vibe appear to be $6 each, variously adding Disney XB and BBC’s CBeebies, China’s CCTV, New Zealand’s Garage TV is added to the service also, along with one other in the Vibe pack, while in the Variety pack you’ll get the new 13th Street, 111 Hits and MTV Classic.

Fetch TV would not comment on the leak or speculation.

  1. Is this an indication that Optus is working towards separating itself from Foxtel, this would have some irony as they tried and failed with a similar TV enterprise once before. Set top boxes are steadily becoming obsolete to Smart TV apps, perhaps Optus should just stick to being an ISP and phones or they’ll end up like Telstra with high overheads and too many fingers in a lot of expensive pies.

    1. JamieL, I’m not sure if you’re aware, but Fetch TV isn’t a part of Optus or Foxtel. They are separate companies. Fetch provides the platform for Optus and Foxtel channels to broadcast on an Internet Protocol television (IPTV) platform.

So, some channels can be shown on both Fetch and Foxtel, while others (those owned by Foxtel) currently can not.
