Married at First Sight beats MKR for the second time

Ratings: Meanwhile Midsomer Murders tops both Sunday Night & 60 Mins while Is Australia Racist? under-performs for SBS.

For the second time this year Married at First Sight has beaten My Kitchen Rules.

Nine’s show drew 1.11m viewers, edging in front of Seven’s 1.1m viewers. MAFS also topped the demos. I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here was down on last Sunday, with 777,00 for the elimination of Tziporah Malkah and 705,000 for the majority of the show.

ABC’s Midsomer Murders managed a #5th place in the rankings at an impressive 846,000 defeating both Sunday Night and 60 Minutes, despite their hefty lead-ins.

Is Australia Racist? brought no significant lift for SBS, at 254,000 it was barely up on a Trump documentary last week (242,000).

Seven network won Sunday with 29.9% then Nine 27.8%, ABC 18.4%, TEN 16.0% and SBS 7.8%.

My Kitchen Rules was best for Seven with 1.01m viewers then Seven News (972,000) and Sunday Night (845,000). The Blacklist was 273,000.

Married at First Sight was #1 for Nine with 1.11m viewers then Nine News (982,000), 60 Minutes (658,000) and Lethal Weapon (343,000).

Midsomer Murders (846,000), ABC News (747,000), and Grand Designs (680,000) comprised ABC’s night.

I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here drew 705,000 for the bulk of the show rising to 777,000 for the elimination. All other shows were under 400,000 with Bondi Rescue (372,000), TEN Eyewitness News (368,000) and 24: Legacy (262,000 / 149,000). Homeland was just 81,000.

Is Australia Racist? pulled 254,000 for SBS then Pompeii: New Secrets Revealed (216,000), Michael Moore: Where to Invade Next (193,00) and SBS World News (150,000).

ABC2’s Ready, Jet, Go led on multichannels with 169,000 viewers.

  1. Technically it’s the first time this year MAFS has beaten MKR because the later reclaimed top spot after timeshift the last time and will more than likely do it again this time.

  2. A huge percentage fall for the 2nd ep of ’24’ given the nature of the show’s plot-I forgot ‘Homeland’ was on and I wasn’t alone , apparently…nowhere as compelling as it once was.
