Australia’s next Eurovision act will be announced by SBS on Tuesday March 7th.
For the first time ever, Australia’s artist and song will both be revealed at the same time, in an intimate live performance at a secret location in Melbourne, hosted by Julia Zemiro.
It will also be broadcast Live on SBS Facebook from 5.30pm.
The chosen act will compete in the Semi-Finals in Kyiv, Ukraine in May, following on from Dami Im’s sensational second placing with Sound of Silence.
With previous acts being former talent show stars and Sony acts there will be strong money on former X Factor stars such as Cyrus Villanueva, Isaiah Firebrace and Marlisa Punzalan (all of whom would also tick diversity boxes for SBS).
But that’s by no means certain, with Australia yet to send a group or veteran performer to Eurovision.
And does the Melbourne announcement mean a home-grown gal like Kylie Minogue or Tina Arena could get the nod? It’s unlikely to be Sydney-born Delta Goodrem given her commitments to The Voice.
Let the guessing games begin….

Heard a whisper that it’s going to be Garrett and his mates from Midnight Oil
There’s more chance that Seven will give Amber Harrison the green light to give a tell all to Woman’s Day lol
Samantha Jade would be the perfect choice in my opinion, she’s also been in Europe recording etc. so could be a tell tale sign.
