Like sands through the hourglass….. Days of Our Lives has just been renewed for a 52nd season.
It’s good news for die-hard fans, after speculation that NBC may cancel the drama to open up the time slot for a new daytime show hosted by former FOX news presenter Megyn Kelly.
But Days, which recently aired its 13,000th episode in January, endures for another season.
“We feel so privileged to be able to continue the remarkable legacy of Days of our Lives,” said Jennifer Salke, president of NBC Entertainment. “We thank Ken Corday and his team for their incredible accomplishments and look forward to all the stories from Salem that will continue to unfold.”
Producer Ken Corday: “It’s a great day in Salem! We’re pleased to announce that after more than 51 years in the hearts and homes of our amazing fans, Days of Our Lives will continue to be part of the NBC family. We are grateful to our incredible network and longstanding partner Sony for their continued support, and we look forward to what the future will bring under the new creative direction of the show. I’m especially proud to be able to shepherd Days into the new season, continuing my parents dream and the show’s legacy.”

So Glad that Foxtel have it express from the usa now
This will please the soap opera addict that I share my life with, I hope that the Days of our Lives and it’s competition The Young and the Restless will put a new coat of paint on it’s ageing well used studio sets and give the phoney artificial foliage and a few of it’s long term actors a bit of a dust to remove the cobwebs.
Great news. Lucky we can watch it on arena. And now ArenaTV is showing Double episodes of Y&R to catch up to the USA. All we need is General Hospital.
Why does NBC bother?
