Renewed: Walliams & Friend

New David Walliams sketch series is getting a second season.

UK sketch series Walliams & Friend is getting a second series.

David Walliams revealed the news this week, when speaking about Sky 1’s adaptation of his children’s novel, Ratburger.

“I’m also doing another series of BBC1’s Walliams and Friend. So I’ve got my work cut out for a while – I’m not going to starve just yet!” he said.

UK critics were lukewarm on the series which featured Walliams with Sheridan Smith, Harry Enfield, Jack Whitehall, Meera Syal, Miranda Richardson, Hugh Bonneville, and Joanna Lumley, but it averaged around 5 million UK viewers.

The series currently is currently screening on ABC on Wednesday nights.

  1. >> UK critics were lukewarm

I thought the episodes with Whitehall and Lumley were solid enough; I’m assuming the ABC will trot out the remainder at some point.

    1. I started watching the Whitehall ep. The only thing solid about it was the sledgehammer humour.

It wasn’t horrible but it wasn’t enough to hold my interest either.
