EXCLUSIVE: Ryan Shelton is starring in his own online comedy shorts. How to Life for UK broadcaster Channel 4, joined by pals Hamish Blake & Gina Riley.

Written and created by Shelton (Rove, The Wrong Girl, Hamish & Andy’s Gap Year), How to Life is a 3-part short form web comedy series that follows Ryan as he turns his unusual, everyday life experiences into YouTube-style  life lessons: How to Lie, How to French Kiss and How to Escape Boring Conversations.

The shorts are co-produced by Radio Karate (Hamish & Andy’s Gap Year), Princess Pictures (It’s a Date) and UK company Objective Fiction (Peep Show, Toast of London) for Channel 4’s Comedy Blap showcase.

“Working with Channel 4 really is a dream come true,” said Shelton. “To be even a small speck of dust in an amazing comedy universe that has included legendary shows like Peep Show, Black Mirror and Brass Eye is complete and utter madness to me. But don’t worry, I acted really cool about it to their faces”.

Nerys Evans, Deputy Head of Comedy for C4 said, “We are thrilled to be working alongside the exceptionally talented Ryan Shelton and his team over in Australia. Ryan’s distinctive tone brings with it an infectious silly energy, and How To Life offers something fresh and original to the C4 Blaps strand.”

Hamish Blake plays Ryan’s semi-identical twin brother and Gina Riley as his mother / nemesis. Also featuring are Amber Clayton, Georgina Naidu and Pia Miranda.

It is directed by Tim Bartley, produced by Laura Waters, Andrea Denholm, Tim Bartley and Ryan Shelton and from Objective Fiction, executive produced by Ben Farrell and produced by Kelly McGolpin.
