TEN zapped from fifth place with Biggest Loser: Transformed to first, in a matter of minutes, thanks to Gogglebox.
The couch potato show had to do a lot of heavy lifting from its 317,000 lead-in, eventually finishing with 687,000 as the top entertainment show of the night.
Seven and Nine once again ran staggered schedules due to Live sporting commitments. Seven News won its slot in the 6pm news battle.
Elsewhere it was the season final for Newton’s Law, with 460,000 up from last week’s 412,000 -will it be enough to win a renewal? It will depend on catch-up and iview numbers.
SBS was down in share but Great British Railway Journeys managed #4th in its slot.
Seven network won Thursday with 32.8% then Nine 27.7%, TEN 18.2%, ABC 15.7% and SBS 5.6%.
Seven News was #1 for Seven with 1.11m / 987,000, The Chase (685,000 / 484,000), Seven’s AFL (587,000), and Home and Away (450,000 in 3 cities).
Nine News (1.1m / 1.06m), A Current Affair (625,000 in 4 cities), Thursday NRL (479,000 in 2 cities), Hot Seat (367,000 / 221,000 in 4 cities) and RBT (309,000 in 3 cities).
Gogglebox (687,000) topped TEN’s night then TEN Eyewitness News (483,000), The Project (462,000 / 337,000), Family Feud (337,000), and The Biggest Loser: Transformed (317,000). A Law and Order: SVU repeat was 274,000.
ABC News (765,000) won its slot for ABC followed by Dream Gardens and 7:30 (both 480,000), Newton’s Law (460,000) and No Offence (263,000).
Great British Railway Journeys (321,000) was best for SBS then Luke Nguyen’s Greater Mekong (160,000), SBS World News (155,000) and Sugar Free Farm (106,000). A repeat of The Principal drew 71,000.
Shaun the Sheep shot back to the top of multichannels with 210,000.

Can’t believe Gogglebox is nearly over again for this series. They really should do longer series of it. I’d happily watch it all year round
I really enjoyed the principal. I did not see it the first time it was on. Excellent work by Alex. Gogglebox funny as usual.
how is sitting in front of your tv watching people watch tv entertainment or actual tv
Yes the pitch sound thin, but the execution is enjoyed by many. As I have noted in the past it works as a snapshot of who we are, especially when the families show reactions to news footage about refugees, gay marriage, etc. It captures our opinions.
You either get it or you don’t. My sister is in the latter camp and flat out refuses to watch it.
And sometimes it’s a bit hit and miss, so if you catch a bit of the “miss” on your first viewing you’re less likely to keep watching (I think that’s what happened to my sister, actually).
I was talking about it to my grandmother (in her 80s) and she said it was stupid and wouldn’t bother watching it, I forced her to watch it one night and now she doesn’t miss an episode. She is in love with Anastasia
Looks like TEN need to work with Foxtel for longer seasons of Gogglebox to help their ratings, plus the viewers want it too.
Gogglebox not quite 1st in slot. The split program content on Seven was higher.
I’m comfy it is first in rankings in its slot as per OzTAM supplied. If you want to add up all the shares that ran in various slots we will be here all day.
Ha! Perfect example of the sort of desperate “no, mine’s on top!” hair-splitting I commented about yesterday…
Why oh why do we have SVU repeats still airing on a Thursday and new eps have been shoved to a Saturday night slot. Haven’t been able to watch on a Saturday and Ten don’t offer a catch up service… so damn annoying
And sandwiched between an umpteenth-rerun movie (Exotic Marigold Hotel) and a repeat, then another repeat, tomorrow night. At least on Saturday their SVU-repeat two hours could be eps in sequence, not haphazard eps as they play now on Thurs and Sat.
Here here. I am sure the new eps if played after Gogglebox would rate higher than the repeat eps.
Default easy win for Seven, of course due to the AFL.
It was a topsy-turvey game, turned onto a thriller late in the match again!
David, how did the movie “Godzilla” rate (Channel 7 in 3 markets & 7mate in 2 markets)?
If Newton’s Law returns, it needs a revamp. They should concentrate on the legal stories and not the personal sagas.
