13 Comments:

  1. It sure makes it difficult to compare when the networks count their multi channels differently ie 7 includes multis in their AFL figure, but 9 doesn’t in their NRL figure. Not sure that 7 will be too excited with the figures for the AFL given that it was across all 5 capital cities.

    • Don’t think a few thousand would make much difference to the total, if the teams not from that state figures are low in Sydney and Mel, but funny 7 is now adding them and 9 isn’t – probably isn’t a good look for really low figures.

  2. Congratulations to Gogglebox. Big win over the AFL and NRL. Seven’s AFL with only just under 0.6 million viewers is not the powerhouse it once was. Even All Star Family Feud got 457,000.
A much better night for TEN.

    • That was my take away from it as well, plus Gogglebox got 265,000 more viewers than its lead-in Family Feud. Which kind of answers the question from Tuesday this week where NCIS got 371,000 on the back of The Biggest Losers 289,000, the lead-in likely doesn’t matter. Yes sure TBL had MKR and MAFS, however Gogglebox had the AFL and NRL on both FTA and STV, with the added part of Gogglebox being on STV the night before.

  3. Why are Sydney and Brisbane figures included for AFL when it wasn’t on the primary channel, but on 7mate? Gem figures for NRL are never included with the primary channel ratings.

  4. No real competition for Seven.

The footy dominated, in its opening night, broadcast from 7pm to after 11pm.

Similar ratings to last year, close to 600k is good, despite the thrashing by Richmond. It did great in the key advertising demographics.

Soccer nowhere to be seen in multi-channel Top 20.

    Neighbours had a big drop.
