Footy Show unleashed on podcast

The AFL Footy Show is the latest podcast series to be announced by Nine.

The AFL Footy Show is getting into weekly podcasts, with The AFL Footy Show Unplugged, in the latest podcast series to be announced by Nine.

It launches tomorrow -you have been warned.

Hosted by The Footy Show’s Craig Hutchison and Rebecca Maddern, the panel will sit down for a candid post-show debrief and discuss what has transpired each week during The Footy Show as well as what is going on in their personal lives outside of the show.

The podcast panel, which also includes Sam Newman, Billy Brownless, Shane Crawford, Dave Hughes and Damian Barrett, will continue to tackle the biggest issues in AFL straight after The Footy Show. They won’t be afraid to hold back, offering honest, passionate and often controversial opinions on the week’s leading footy stories as well as what is going on in the world beyond the game.

There is no telling what path the unpredictable stars of The Footy Show will go down once the cameras are turned off, so join in the laughs, the heated debates and the serious footy chat from the most experienced, expert and hilarious panel in the world of AFL.

The AFL Footy Show Unplugged is just the latest podcast released by Nine. Since January, the media company has launched a number of podcasts including: relationship podcast Sweet Spot, hosted by Katherine Feeney, NRL podcast Six Tackles with Gus, hosted by James Bracey and featuring Phil Gould, news podcast The Way It Is, hosted by Neil Breen and Leila McKinnon and women’s sport podcast In Her Court hosted by Sam Squiers.

  1. Thought Nine would axe it by now. Two channels on foxtel are killing both nine’s NRL & AFL footy show’s. Fox footy is much better & NRL channel has great show’s.

    1. But Foxtel has a penetration of around 30% of households and not all those would subscribe to nrl or afl channels so how much of an affect can it have. AFL footy show this week went up against a Foxtel only live afl match.

I actually think the rise of the podcasts would have an affect on shows such as footy classified etc. and there are some pretty good ones out there. One example is the superfooty podcast and lauren has been a good addition this year.

    2. I think the AFL footy show had 157,000 viewers last week that’s very low for FTATV but still heaps higher than the pay TV channels own version. .majority of Asutralians dont have pay TV so it really dosent matter how good the pay tV shows are no one is watching them cause foxtel is a rip off.
