Gardening Australia: Easter special

Costa and the team have a one hour Friday night episode for your long weekend gardening tips.

Gardening Australia
has a one hour Easter Special airing on Good Friday as Costa and the team bring you brand new tips for the garden this long weekend.

Costa demonstrates a colourful project for kids using common plants to create beautiful Easter eggs. He goes to the Sydney Royal Botanic Gardens to discover the sweet, horticultural history of chocolate, and he visits Sydney’s RSPCA shelter to check out their newly landscaped gardens, designed to help potential adopters bond with the rescue rabbits.

Sophie Thomson introduces her feathered flock and explains the different ways they help her in the garden. Sophie and her kids get stuck into one of their favourite holiday projects – making cute “egghead” seed pots.

Josh Byrne visits an inspirational development near Perth’s CBD, where a group of households have created a thriving community around their shared garden. Millie Ross makes a portable herb basket that you can take on holidays!

Jerry Coleby-Williams looks at the amazing world of palms and meets an expert who explains how to pick the right one for your garden.

Tino Carnevale visits a wildlife sanctuary in Tasmania that rescues and rehabilitates native animals and looks at the plants they grow and gather to feed them.

We profile the gorgeous Easter Daisy, and the presenters share what Easter means to them and explain what they will be up to in their gardens over Easter.

7:30pm Good Friday on ABC, repeated on Easter Sunday, April 16 at 12.30pm on ABC.
