Airdate: Are You the One: Second Chances

MTV dating show gets a spin-off series, filmed in Melbourne.

MTV airs Are You the One: Second Chances, a spin-off of dating series Are You the One?

Not to be confused with If You Are The One, this has Amazing Race style challenges between dating couples.

Filmed in Melbourne, the host is Karamo Brown, who was a housemate in 2004’s Real World: Philadelphia, and the first openly gay African American in reality TV history.

After five seasons of epic hookups, breakups and drama, 10 fan-favourite couples from MTV
from previous seasons of hit MTV show Are You The One? are back for a second chance at love (and cash!) in an all-new spinoff series with a uniquely Australian flavour.

Are You the One: Second Chances was filmed entirely on the streets of Melbourne from the iconic street art alleys of the CBD through to Docklands and the Melbourne City Baths all featuring heavily throughout the series.

The hit series brings 10 couples together again to test all aspects of their relationship. The twist? This time, not everyone will win together; it’s every couple for themselves.

The perfect matches will compete in challenges all over Melbourne designed to test the strength of their bonds – from language barriers to uniquely cultural challenges it makes for compelling viewing. Each week, successful couples will be rewarded with money and one match will be sent packing until the definitive ‘All Star’ couple is crowned.

Over the first five seasons of Are You The One?, 52 perfect matches were made, but that was just the beginning. From those who fell in love, to those who insist they’re only friends, to pairs who never got the chance to explore their connections; the science doesn’t lie, there is a special connection shared by these matches. Are You The One: Second Chances will give these couples a second chance to explore their connection and try to win money at the same time.

How the game is played:
The matches’ compatibility is tested in relationship-focused missions like traveling as a couple, making sacrifices, managing money and more.
The more missions each match wins, the more they learn about each other and the more money they bank.
Each week, the match in last place enters ‘The Choice,’ where they must individually decide between stealing their winnings earned until that point and going home, or sharing their jackpot and staying in the game.

9:30pm Tuesday on MTV.
