Axed: Scream Queens, Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders, Secrets & Lies.

Bad news for one Australian-conceived series in the US.

The axe continues to swing in the US with horror-comedy Scream Queens ending with just two seasons.

The Ryan Murphy-produced series averaged 2.3 million viewers with live-plus-seven returns.

FOX co-chairman and CEO Gary Newman said, “Scream Queens was an anthological series,” Newman said. “It feels as if it was a compete story. We have no plans at this point to go back there and tell more stories so we won’t be seeing Scream Queens this season.”

It aired in Australia on ELEVEN.

CBS has also pulled the pin on Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders after two seasons.

The spin-off series attracted 7.3 million total viewers but negative reviews. It aired in Australia on Seven.

Meanwhile amongst the week’s cancellations was Hoodlum-produced Secrets and Lies after two seasons.

Based on the Australian series of the same name, the US anthology with Juliette Lewis lasted one extra season, averaging 5.2 million total viewers down considerably from its first season over 8 million.
