Axed: Training Day, Doubt.

No surprises with the cancellation of two more US shows.

No surprises here but two more US shows linked to Australian programming are officially over: Training Day and Doubt.

The axe for Training Day was unavoidable, given the untimely death of star Bill Paxton.

The series got off to a slow start with 4.7 million US viewers before dropping. It screened here on Seven.

Legal drama Doubt, starring Katherine Heigl and Laverne Cox, was pulled from CBS after only two airings. The series, which made TV history as the first broadcast series with a regular transgender character played by a transgender actor, debuted with 5.29 million viewers before dropping. It is due in Australia on TEN network but no word if it that remains the plan.

CBS also cancelled medical drama Pure Genius.
