Doctor Doctor sells to Europe as ‘The Heart Guy’

Doctor Doctor has been will be retitled in a sale to Pay TV in Germany, Austria & Switzerland.

Essential Media drama Doctor Doctor has been sold to Germany where it will be retitled as The Heart Guy.

FremantleMedia International has signed a deal with leading PayTV broadcaster, Sky Deutschland for Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Maximilian Bolenius, Senior Vice President, German speaking Europe and Israel, said: “The Heart Guy follows the life of a complex character as his world faces total upheaval and a forced change in direction. With that comes a host of relatable storylines and life-affirming themes. This series perfectly matches the broad profile of Sky 1, it is heart-warming, enjoyable and full of fascinating characters that we’re sure will keep Sky Deutschland’s audiences entertained.”

Christian Asanger, Vice President Entertainment Channels Sky Deutschland added: “With a brilliant cast and a breath-taking setting the series The Heart Guy was a huge success in Australia. We are happy to present this entertaining and intriguing series to our Sky 1 audiences.”

Series 2 is currently in production in New South Wales.

Sky Deutschland has previously picked up Wentworth.

  1. I was just reading on Show Patrol yesterday that it has also been picked up by Acorn TV for the US, also titled The Heart Guy. Curt Wagner was tweeting about chatting with Rodger Corser.
